      R.D.Quinn: Selective pressure responsible for the circadian eclosion periodicity of Drosophila. The manuscript is based on a study by Pittendrigh’s undergraduate student Ronald Quinn in Princeton demonstrating enhanced mortality during eclosion of Drosophila pupae in dry air – often referred to by Pittendrigh as the selective advantage of early morning eclosion. The manuscript was submitted to Science in the 1970’s, but remained unpublished. It was transcribed to Word by Michael Tackenberg in 2015
